Frame to Frame: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) & No Country For Old Men (2007)

Episode 253 of the show features recurring guest Bo Nicholson as Andy, Sean and Bo smash together two films with titles from poetry.

And what a couple of films they are!

Bo was hard-pressed trying to squeeze all of his love for Eternal Sunshine into half an hour, while Sean joined him in praising the structure of the film and the technical ingenuity. Despite overwhelmingly enjoying the film, Andy found some issue in parts of the film outside the mind of Jim Carrey’s Joel Barish, but do those sections strengthen the themes of the film, or put a hand-brake on the narrative momentum?

Sean described No Country for Old Men as one of the scariest films he’s seen in the cinema! And this from a guy who loves horror films! Bo and Andy also commended the film’s command of tension, but does such a man-dominated Western film still work on a rewatch?
